Every time I go to The Metropolitan Building in Long Island City, the design plan is TOTALLY different. I love venues that can take on any design and color scheme, and between the two floors TMB is one of those for sure. When Danielle told me she loved purple but didn't want to take it too overboard, I knew that Days of May would be the perfect match for her floral design. Michaela has a way of making sure every color palette suites the enviroment its put in.
I was so excited to start our 2017 season with Danielle and John, who are quite possibly two of the sweetest people I've ever met! We wanted to make sure that their April wedding wasn't "too spring" just in case the weather was frigid, so we had two escort card plans. When it turned out to be a day on the warmer side, I had Michaela grab me a few bundles of white cherry blossom to use for the escort card display. We wanted it to feel like you were walking into the first bloom of the season, and I think it worked perfectly!
Some of my favorite elements from this wedding were from the reception. Danielle had her parent's vintage cake topper on top of their cake from Nine Cakes. The cake actually mimicked the design from the invitation suite and it was AMAZING! We also transitioned the escort card table + cherry blossoms to the favor table with mini cans of Sophie champagne and Fancy Girl Catering made the prettiest dessert table using the venue's vintage rentals we chose!
